Where to Watch Pro Pickleball on TV and Streaming

Pro pickleball reaches national television most weekends now. What changed since this page was written in 2023 is not the volume of coverage — it is that one streaming service carries both major tours end to end, and the broadcast networks have become the shop window rather than the main feed.

The original version of this page listed a 2023 calendar: a Pickleball Slam date, a US Open week, a 24-team MLP, an ESPN+ hours count. All of that has turned over. Below is where the sport actually lives on screen now, what it costs, and one number about the size of the sport that two credible sources still disagree about by roughly twelve million people.

The short version

• Every match, every round: PickleballTV (PBTV), which carries both the Carvana PPA Tour and Major League Pickleball.
• Championship Sundays and marquee sessions: Tennis Channel, CBS, FOX, ESPN, NBC and ABC, depending on the event.
• Free: the PPA Tour’s YouTube channel, which carries highlights, replays and featured-court coverage at no cost.
• The other tour: the APP runs a separate circuit with its own national coverage on CBS Sports and ESPN.

PickleballTV is the actual answer for most people

PBTV is the piece that did not exist when this page was first published. Tennis Channel introduced the network in November 2023, and Tennis Channel and the United Pickleball Association launched the standalone app on 6 February 2025. It carries both tours — more than 30 PPA Tour and MLP events — along with instructional and lifestyle programming.

The PPA Tour’s own viewing page puts it plainly: PBTV streams all main-draw rounds of every Carvana PPA Tour event. That is the part network television cannot do. A tour stop runs four days across a dozen courts; CBS gets an hour of it.

Pricing at launch was $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and those are still the only two plans on PickleballTV’s own plans page, read 10 October 2026. The 30-day free trial is advertised in the App Store listing rather than on the web plans page, so it is worth checking which route you are signing up through before you count on one. The website version carries content from both tours for free. If you are deciding whether to pay, the honest test is whether you watch anything other than the final. If you only ever turn on the Sunday match, the networks already give you that for nothing.

What is on broadcast television

The PPA lists CBS, FOX, ESPN, NBC, ABC and Tennis Channel as networks carrying select matches through the season. In practice the pattern is consistent: Championship Sundays and selected quarterfinals and semifinals simulcast on Tennis Channel, with a network window on top for the bigger stops. The Rate Las Vegas Open ran rounds of 16 through Championship Sunday on PBTV with a Tennis Channel simulcast from 1pm to 5pm ET on the Sunday. The Veolia Chicago Cup added FS1 and FS2 windows for extra rounds of 16 and quarterfinals.

Major League Pickleball works the same way but leans harder on the finals weekend. The 2026 DoorDash MLP Finals in New York City, 28–30 August, ran every match live on PickleballTV and the PBTV app, with MSG Channel carrying the Friday and Saturday sessions, CBS taking the middle hour of the Sunday final from noon to 1pm ET, and Tennis Channel picking up a deciding third match if one was needed. That is four platforms for one weekend, and it is a fair picture of how a pickleball final gets distributed now: stream for the whole thing, network for the part that fits in an hour.

The APP Tour is a separate thing, and people conflate them

The PPA and MLP are both owned by the same parent now. The APP is not. It runs its own circuit, and The Dink reported in August 2025 that the 2026 APP Tour comprises 12 stops across the United States, each with national broadcast coverage on CBS Sports and ESPN. The APP also runs a development series for players 23 and under and a collegiate series with regional qualifiers.

The practical difference for a viewer is that APP events stay open to amateurs of all ages and skill levels alongside the pro divisions, so the broadcast is cut from a much larger event. If you are trying to work out which tour you are watching, the entry list is the giveaway.

The number nobody reconciles: how big is this sport?

The version of this page from 2023 said participation went from 5 million players in 2021 to over 36.5 million in 2022. That is not a growth figure. It is two different measurements stacked on top of each other, and the jump is almost entirely definitional.

The 36.5 million came from the Association of Pickleball Professionals, which polled roughly 2,500 nationally representative adults through YouGov and counted anyone who played at least once between August 2021 and August 2022 — 14% of adult Americans. The same report found 8.5 million people playing eight times or more. So by the APP’s own numbers, the committed population was about a quarter of the headline.

The Sports & Fitness Industry Association, which is the figure the industry actually plans against, reports 24.3 million Americans played pickleball in 2025, with 171.8% growth from 2022 to 2025.

Both numbers are honest. They measure different things, and the gap between them is the difference between “picked up a paddle once at a barbecue” and “plays”. Anyone quoting a single participation number without saying which definition it uses is telling you less than they appear to. At 4.7 I care about the second number, because that is the population that fills a 3.5–4.5 bracket on a Saturday and keeps a local club solvent — and it is the one the broadcast rights are ultimately priced against.

What this means if you are new to watching

Start free. Watch a Championship Sunday on Tennis Channel or CBS and see whether the format holds you. Pro doubles at the kitchen line looks like a different sport from rec play, and a lot of people who love playing find they do not enjoy watching it.

If it does hold you, the thing that converts people is usually not the final — it is the early-round featured court, where you can watch a single team problem-solve for an hour. That is the part only the stream has. The PPA’s YouTube channel is the free way to sample it before paying for PBTV.

What we would skip

Aggregator pages listing “every pickleball channel” are mostly stale. Broadcast arrangements here change every season, and a list built in 2023 will send you to services that have been folded into something else. The two reliable primary sources are the tours’ own viewing pages, which are updated per event.
