Gear advice from someone who actually plays.
Pickleball Insiders is a gear review site written by one person, under his own name — not a content team, not a spec sheet read aloud.
I’m a 4.7 DUPR player based in New York. I started this site because most paddle advice online is either a spec sheet read aloud or a review written by someone who has clearly never hit a third-shot drop under pressure. Neither helps you spend $200 well.
I write every review on this site under my own name. When I’ve played a paddle, I say so — and I say how I got it: bought, borrowed through a retailer demo program, or sent by the brand. When I haven’t played it, I say that too, and I synthesize the independent testing labs instead, naming whose measurements I’m citing.
What this site is for
Helping you pick gear that suits how you actually play. That means telling you what swing weight means before quoting one, naming who a paddle is wrong for as clearly as who it’s right for, and being honest when the budget option is genuinely as good as the flagship — which, in the current market, it often is.
How the site makes money
Affiliate commission when you buy through links here, at no extra cost to you. Brands do not pay for reviews, rankings, or placement — the full policy is on our review methodology page, and the formal version is at affiliate disclosure.
The newsletter
One email a week: a tip you can use at your next session, a gear trick, and what actually changed in paddles. Plus a paddle giveaway every month. Tips. Tricks. Giveaways. That’s the promise.
